A personal recollection written from the perspective of many years’ cooperation with a respected Warsaw lawyer, activist of the bar association, expert and practitioner of bar discipline issues, a long-term judge of the Higher Disciplinary Court of the Bar, publicist, traveler and erudite. Andrzej Bąkowski belonged to the generation of the oldest lawyers, but until recent years he was active with his pen, advice and tips supporting the idea of the free, self-governing, equal and pluralist Bar.
