On the cover: Dike - "Justice" found

The personification of Justice presented on the fourth page of the cover was created in Rome in 1568 and remains one of the most original works of Italian, little-known engraver Mario Cartaro (ca.1540-1620). Undoubtedly, a dress with elements of armor and a bright arch crowning the hill towards which the personification of Justice is heading attracts our attention. The figure corresponds to the Greek representations of Dike and Astrea, and the armed elements in clothing reflected the influence of Christianity – after all, in the symbolism of the virtue of Justice, the sword is both a punishment and a defense, while a weighing scale depicts a balance that marks the border between law and lawlessness, and an inevitable destiny.
