The state of epidemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19) as force majeure justifying the suspension of the limitation periods for claims under Article 121 point 4 of the Civil Code

The aim of the article is to examine whether a pandemic, such as the one caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which exerts a significant impact on the economic life and the administration of justice, and which has already resulted in many specific legal regulations and the declaration of the state of epidemic, may lead to the suspension of the limitation periods as force majeure under Article 121 point 4 of the Polish Civil Code. The article is directed to practitioners, and contributes to an ongoing discussion.
